Atelier Adamian

The brand Atelier Adamian was born in February 2024. Its founder, Eva Adamian, now twenty-six, is a globetrotter. She grew up between Yerevan and Moscow, studied fashion design in Milan, where she currently lives, and she tells me over a video call that one of her future plans is to move to Los Angeles.
She learned to sew at age 11: initially from her grandmother and with the extracurricular courses offered by the Russian school she attended as a child. She perfected the technique through online videos and numerous experimental attempts, making dresses for theatrical performances.
At 17 she moved to Milan to study at Marangoni Fashion Design Womenswear. She worked as a designer at Bally, a luxury brand, and also offered consultancy to other fashion labels. But she soon felt the need to express her art and she started her own fashion brand. In fact, among her current desires is to bring out a more artistic and conceptual collection, which does not necessarily have to adhere to the concept of wearability that, until now, has somewhat domesticated her design. “However, I would also like to express my artistic vision a bit more, maybe to create some things that are even more interesting and special and different,” she says, hinting at a freer, more experimental direction.
Currently, in the team of Atelier Adamian, there is only Eva, who, taking advantage of the wealth of the Milanese network, builds relationships and collaborations with numerous content creators.
In its early days, the brand embraced a more romantic style and conveyed a delicate sense of femininity. Today, its aesthetic is darker and edgier, wrapped in a veil of mystery reminiscent of Eyes Wide Shut, while still retaining a subtle romanticism, that is a reflection of Eva’s deep sensitivity.
Describing the creative process behind each of her works, she reveals the deep emotional transport that fuels every idea: often, in fact, it is the materials themselves that guide her direction, as she explains, “I just let the materials speak to me and I can see what they can become.” In the same garment, Eva enjoys creating a game of tactile and visual sensations using multiple materials: leather, silk and fur.
Eva’s artistic inspiration is stimulated by any art form: cinema, art and photography. Her second collection, Incognito, is inspired by the mystery and seduction of the Moretta, the black velvet mask from Venice that became popular in the seventeenth century.
The philosophy of Atelier Adamian is based on sustainability: all clothes are made using only deadstock fabrics and vintage furs. Each piece is unique and made to order. There is a certain aversion to the fast and oppressive pace of the fashion world, which translates into a lower frequency in the release of collections. This approach to production stems from the designer’s need to limit, on a small scale, the significant environmental impact of the textile industry.
Despite the brand’s recent launch, the designer’s dynamic and consistent presence on social media, combined with her strong network in Milan, allows her to gain the opportunity to dress well-known characters such as the Italian singer Gaia for an editorial of Cosmopolitan, and the artist Parg, on the occasion of her performance at Depi Evratesil, the singing competition that selects the Armenian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Inspired by the meaning of the song Survivor, Eva created for Parg an extraordinary vambrace, the element of the knights’ plate armor.
